NCOSSCA All-Star Games

North Central District All-Star Games
Sports Force Park – Sandusky, OH

November 11, 2018

On a cold, but sunny November day the North Central District held four All-Star Games at Sports Force Park in Sandusky, OH. We added two new games (Future Stars) this year along with our traditional Sr. All-Star games. It made for a great day of soccer.

The first game of the day was the Girls Futures Stars. This game was for underclassmen that had garnered Conference and/or District honors. We divided up the teams to the best of our ability and let them play! In a highly competitive game, the Home (Dark jerseys) Team came out on top 5 – 4. We didn’t do a very good job recording stats from all the games, but found some incomplete notes that the announcer made. From those notes we determined that Kalie Blaising (Madison) and Olivia Bekeleski (Mansfield Christian) each scored 2 goals for the winning team and Taylor Huff (Madison) had 1 goal for the losing side.

The second game was the Boys Futures Stars. These are also underclassmen that received Conference and/or District honors. This was also a competitive game with the Home Team (Dark Jerseys) prevailing 3-0 over the guys in the White Jerseys. Unfortunately we don’t have any stats from this game other than the score.

The third game of the day was the Sr. Girls All-Star game. The teams are divided with players from SBC schools on the Away (White Jerseys) Team and players from non-SBC schools on the Home (Dark Jerseys) Team. We have divided the teams this way for the last several years, but will look at doing it different next year and beyond. The Home Team (Dark Jerseys) continued their winning ways for the day by a 10 – 0 score. We don’t have complete stats from this game, but working from memory, Kaylin Helinski (Clear Fork) - 3 goals, Bailey Romoser (Clear Fork) - 1 goal, Makaylee Zuercher – 1 goal and the game’s MVP - Peyton Phillips (Firelands) had 2 goals and 1 assist.

The fourth and final game of the day was the Sr. Boys All-Star game. The teams were divided like the Girls games with SBC players on the Away (White Jerseys) Team and non-SBC players on the Home (Dark Jerseys) Team. The Dark Jerseys completed the Home Team sweep for the day with a 8 – 0 win. From the notes we did have the following boys scored for the Home Team. Cain Duskey (Orrville), Gavin Huggins (Madison), Andrew Cacchio (Ontario), Kadin Hooks (Ontario), Diaz (St. Peter’s) and the game’s MVP – Ali Rabee (Madison).

We want to thank Sports Force Park for hosting the games. Justin Kijowski, Chris McClenathan and Steve Schuster for organizing the games and making the rosters. Laurie Weber, Dennis Morgan, Ryan Manner, Sherri Branum and Brittany Yost for coaching the Sr. Girls Teams. Tim Lord, Steve Armstrong, Ken Filar, Kurri Lewis and Luis Ceja for coaching the Sr. Boys Teams.

Have a great off season and we’ll see everyone next season !
